I vaguely remember seeing an artwork of a stretched car or a floating car before this however it was a render as opposed to a raster image and I decided I wanted to photograph my car and create a version of my own. I wanted to do it back in 2018 although only got around to it in 2020.

This is a digital artwork created from a photo I took in the Royal National Park, NSW. I love a good road photo with greenery and wasn’t sure what to do with this photo, I’d also just perfected my lone cloud and decided to pop it in with some lasers that I was enjoying creating. I made this digital artwork to mark my 27th birthday and I was hoping to make something a lot more aligned with my style although I guess it didn't work out that way. However I'm getting good feedback on this one so I guess it’s a success! Each year for a little while there when I was still sharing artworks to instagram I’d create holiday themed artworks and this was one of them. I tried to aim for a similar artwork to my previous birthday artwork, ‘Gold Thoughts’, with a hologram, then I intended to make a giant me in the clouds moving it although I guess not.

This was partially a challenge artwork, I wanted to know how I’d go about executing an underwater scene in my living room. There was also a cactus I’d just bought and wanted it in an artwork. To whip out this final piece I had to really move some things around to get the right shots. This is how it turned out!

I am such a fan of this artwork. It’s the beginning of some extremely funky party animals showing up in my digital artworks and this is where it began. The idea came from me just wondering how tall the animals could stack up to be, I tried to get the perspective right answer remember being surprised the giraffe wouldn’t be bigger. So here it is, some party animals and that’s pretty close to the proportions.

This was a covid artwork, I didn’t mind the social distancing in person, it was nice to have the person behind you in line at the grocery store genuinely not allowed to be on your back and being forced to go for a walk instead of sitting at a cafe wasn’t the worst. But it came with its trade offs, I didn’t expect people to regress in their social skills. I wasn’t really sure how to make a digital artwork on this idea so I whipped out my laptop, took some photos and sliced the ocean like I enjoy doing.

This artwork reminds me of one of my paintings. I’d just taken a photo of a can and had a friends piano on file and I wanted to pop them in an artwork. From there I wanted to make the can of art, so I warped an artwork into the label and also decided to include a geometric style step in the earth. I also wanted to utilise a photo of my paint which turned out pretty funky. This is how it ended up. The artwork is also in one of my colouring in books if you want to have a go at drawing it!

This artwork derives from the idea that I’ve played around with in a few artworks, the earth being shaped in a sharp geometric 90º angle. This time I wanted to see how I’d go with adding a beach style water on it as opposed to cutting an ocean or a road. Turns out it’s not that difficult! From there I wanted to include my giraffe as if it’s entering our dimension from another or in a waterfall.

This is a memorable artwork! Mainly because the file became half corrupt when I wrapped it up. I was so proud of what I’d made and I couldn’t simply open it to adjust some things before finishing it. The idea behind this is that I wanted to create a chain out of my motorbike, through the wheels. I think I did a decent job. It’s also in a colouring in book if you want to have a go at making the artwork yourself.

I love how this artwork turned out! I took this photo before I changed my sleeping schedule to something that suits me and my art more. So when this was taken I was up as the sun rose and had the opportunity to take a photo of my living room in this lighting. From there I’d mastered clouds and wanted to make it a real fairytale, the way that I felt when I saw the photo I’d taken.

I also wanted to play with the idea of giraffe height so I created a pool in the sky and then visiting it. I had a pair of shoes I really liked and I wanted to make an artwork out of them. So with these new photos alongside a crossing photo I took and some moons I put this together. As if you’re walking along a floating crossing over the water.

Similar to some other night time artworks, I struggled with the night time background for a while and I’m not sure I’ve fully mastered it yet. I remember pulling over to take a few photos for this artwork and I assumed no one was paying attention. A moment later a man asks me if I’m okay or selling my car? No… Had to pause and make some art… You know. So the artwork’s background is the actual shot, more black than dark blue that I now think would be more suitable for my artworks. The rest is just me playing around seeing how the artwork would play out with a flying car.

Every time I look up this artwork in my files I never find it. Past me titled this artwork “Couch Hole”. I hope that sheds some light on the transformation this artwork went through then eventually landed here. I remember somewhat wanting to pop my couch in the ocean, then from there that lead into making a geometric hole in the ocean, then I guess it didn’t look right and here we are. I think this one is much more coherent, considering my artworks are surreal in general.

Sometimes when I create a digital artwork I create many versions or save a version before changing it and in some cases I can’t decided which one I want to sell. Usually I’ll just throw any suitable version up because after a few years of sales I see that my taste isn’t everyone’s taste and the art lovers often choose artworks I would have never guessed. When creating this artwork I wanted to use my black an white portrait photo but mix it with the challenge of turning it gold, digitally and also add a painting in it as well. I guess I went in loaded wth ideas for this one and I’m not sure I hit the mark! These are the results. Definitely funky.

I wanted an artwork with an umbrella floating around. I guess a Merry Poppins kind of idea. I struggle with my digital artworks at night though and this is one of those that I look back at and wonder if I hit the mark. However art is subjective! I ran a kickstarter to launch my colouring in books and gave people the option to choose which digital artwork they wanted printed and this was one woman’s choice. It’s really fascinating to me to see the artworks people choose! I guess it did hit the mark for some.

This artwork was surprisingly well received! It features in my colouring in book if you’re in the mood to create your own version. I decided I was in the mood to create a sea of moons melting at night. Night artworks are tricky though, compared to my day time ones they lack something. It’s not something I’ve mastered yet, in my opinion. However I’ve been told by more than a handful of people they love it, unprompted. So I guess that’s how it lands!

I ended up this artwork unsure about the outcome but that happens with half of them. I’d taken a photo of my door and decided this. This is what I’m making an artwork out of. So I did. Then I needed some background and landscape to work with it so I took some clouds I’d created and a background from what I vaguely remember possibly being Bobbin Head.

I wanted a quirky artwork for this. In 2019 I’d taken a photo of an elephant at the zoo and used it in a few artworks and for some reason elephants at the circus were on my mind. So from there I decided to create an elephant high-wire in your average landscape. The legs took some manipulating and I do enjoy how it turned out.

I really enjoyed this artwork! I must have been rephotographing my paintings and had quite a few out. So I decided that I wanted to create a digital artworks out of them and popped them in. I then used my favourite style of road shot, a front on shot and wanted it floating above the ground alongside that new cactus photo I’d taken. This is the result and I ended up painting this artwork as a challenge to see how I’d create it using paint.

When starting this artwork I wanted to use my giraffe photo again, however I wanted it to be different and decided it would be cool to cut it in half and have the giraffe split through the artwork. Once I put it together it didn’t sit right and my skill level at the time decided that melting the giraffe would help. I ended up with this artwork. I’m not sure I hit the mark but I know that art is subjective and there will be someone who really connects with it.

This was an interesting artwork to create, I wanted to create something that had a new photo of my new cactus I’d bought and photographed. Once I cut out the cactus ready to use, I found it more realistic than my other photos, it had a different look, most likely because I hadn’t had two artworks prior to this to manipulate it a bit and work it in. From there I set up the background and wanted a portal to a different world and this is the result. The first print that sold of this artwork (that material is now discontinued) came with a story about how the artwork matched the new owners poem he’d written. To him it’s as if he made the story and I made the visual and together he now has his imagination come to life.

At the time of making this I’d been surrounded by digital artists on instagram that all kept up with each other and they would always make a special artwork for the current holiday or social trend.
