I ended up unsure about this one, I created it as a continuation from my ‘Money Tree’ painting which was quite well received and was complimented by that foolish “Make another!” “tip” so I did. People like to try and solve my sales pattern without understanding that being an artist is just an unpredictable lifestyle, you need to be built for it. The first artwork, ‘Money Tree’ sold almost immediately and there were also raging fires going on in Australia so people jumped to the conclusion that the buyer must have felt moved by the fires, it’s honestly anyone’s guess, we don’t know why it moved them. But to follow up on that guess, this one reminds me of the recovery after the fires, the water sits on the tree like a koala, then ignites the lasers from within the tree, as if it’s been revived from the fires.

After a few years of blindly following peoples advice accompanied with plenty of pressure I decided making artworks on the advice of someone who has no experience isn’t a good tactic and I don’t do it anymore.

This artwork is oil based, is one of my hand-stretched ones and sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.
