Recently I watched a Youtube video where the creator joked about Jesus and from there I came to the conclusion there aren’t enough Jesus paintings. All the actual Jesus paintings I’ve seen are from the 1400’s and earlier, I also wanted him to be a hippy, so the new owner can be in a mood then look over at the artwork and think “What would Jesus do?”… This Jesus. While creating the artwork I learnt that there are sects of religions that follow the bible who allow icons and some that don’t. Then I went a step further for a new artwork to visit a few different religious places of worship and found that some religions take it seriously and other just say they don’t have icons, but seem to have them there in plain sight. So this is an artwork for the Jesus lovers who allow icons and want a real artwork, made with love and definitely not a print (prints of paintings… my own personal form of blasphemy). This artwork is one of my hand-stretched ones, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.

This was one of my final 9 apaintings from the 80 artworks project, I decided to paint a bird out of practicality for the time constraint and I also wanted to paint a bird, like a previous artwork ‘Flock Party’, since I haven’t in a while. One that’s in a position you’d be lucky to have photographed… only executed through painting in some capacity. I also wanted to paint something which the viewer needed to think about, how it’s hanging onto a cloud and what is the cloud to each person? There’s a small reference to that cat poster “Hang in there”. This artwork is one of my hand-stretched ones, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.

This is the first digital artwork after the flood of lockdown artworks so I had some time to think about and work on it. I wanted to create something to add to my collection of Lenormand cards as my last snake artwork isn't as vibrant.

This is my second last lockdown painting, at this point I'm experimenting with creating artworks from different angles. I started painting this painting with the intention of making sales in the desert forming from the ground (similar to my 'I Love My Leather Gloves' painting), then quickly changed my mind to create a church with a high roof and a never ending room filled with flowers. It reminds me of my grandma, she's super religious and often preaching, I imagine going to church would feel like this for her, a room full of flowers and daylight – hope. This is a painting very different to my others, I made it during my lockdown challenge and it became super clear I'd been repeating the same setting in each different painting so I decided that since I'm making different types of paintings I should create a very 2D style one as well. At the time I'd just started learning about illusions and this includes one where geometric shapes sit at a particular spot to create the illusion that there's another image. Here people are convinced there's a vase, yet there's no actual vase being painted. I also threw in my surrealist flare and painted the flowers different colours to their natural colour, similar to my fruit bowl painting. I needed to have a painting of a vase of flowers in my portfolio. Oil based, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity!

I made this painting based on a digital artwork I created a couple years back in terms of layout, creating it revolved more around the time frame I gave myself and just creating it so I didn't have a concept in mind. I had to name it so I based the name on another painting I recently finished which also has a floating crossing, as if they're connected and this is the day time version. I ended up really focusing on the texture of the floor because I told insta that they can decide when I start painting a different section.. No one opted for me to move on so it ended up really detailed; that taught me that I can do better. It's up to the viewer to interpret how they see it. I've been super pear focused lately, probably because I've been making more artworks in a shorter space of time and the topics of each merge together. So I made another pear! I wanted to follow up on the style of my recent 'Spotty Pig' as I noticed quite a few people saved that one.I almost left this artwork just as a spotty pear although right before I thought I finished I watched a Bosch documentary which caused me to think twice about leaving it simple. So I added a cage and an ear. After finishing it, it reminded me of listening.. how there's sound around you and sometimes you ignore the sounds and sometimes you absorb them and contemplate.
