I find still life an interesting topic of art, it’s mostly hit or miss and I’m yet to find one in-between. A while back I painted a few satire artworks on still life and vases (‘Vases for Decor Purposes’ or ‘Fruit Bowl’, I think it’s fun to play with the genre so I began this artwork ready to paint some very detailed still life and then ended up wanting to add movement with a parade of horses running through, they swim out of the still life and dive back into it. For some of the artwork I wanted to focus on depth and on other days I wanted to make the shadows not make sense. So this is the result of this still life artwork. I hope it’s a hit for you. I’ve joined the masses turning their backs on Adobe and this is my first digital artwork using Affinity Photo. This was mainly a learning curve and I’m not sure it’s my best concept but a good start to hopefully some great Affinity made artworks! I wanted to create an electric wall by using textures that I’d create in Photoshop like smudging and adjustment layer or placing a glow around it. I ended up making the vines glow and even created a much better lemur (in terms of fur) than I could have in Photoshop. The overall intention was to create a window where the clouds are actually doughnuts, so I tried to show that with some of them spanning across to the neighbouring window. I also added the albino giraffes referencing my painting, ‘The Game’, while the doughnuts reference my painting, ‘Cravings’.

This is an artwork I created during my 80 artworks and the idea came from two previous ideas. One being ‘Alpaca Wall’ and the other ‘Camouflage Partyraffant’. I’ve always appreciated the transparency of the wall in ‘Camouflage Partyraffant’ and tried to replicate it quite a few times. While creating the artwork I wanted to channel some dreamy vibes, the window’s calling.

This is one of my 80 artworks and when I began it I thought I’d quickly wrap the bird in leaves although that wasn’t quick and it didn’t look good (I recommend watching the time lapse for this one) I then changed my mind on what I wanted to create and at the time I thought the concept of turning the bird into half smoke would be too simple. After creating it I decided this artwork took a very good turn.

During my 80 artworks project my digital artworks and paintings overlap as I try to interchange the styles between them. This is one of those artworks where I try to recreate a painting that sold. The impression that I have where the two don’t swap very well still stands as the painting is much more capturing than this version.

In this artwork I decided to try a new tactic where you see above the ground and below. Since this was my first attempt and also during my 80 artworks I believe I could have done better. Either way, it’s not bad! I also aimed to have more of a landscape where my artwork showcases a scene instead of one centred item. The idea of this artwork is based on how nothing’s random. A passing thought when I joke about simulation theory. Then I wondered why there’s people who genuinely believe that random things happen… The thought that the entire world is a massive domino effect doesn’t apply in their version of reality. I believe things happen exactly as planned, whether you choose to do it through one way or another. To paint this I tried to show tunnels beneath the ground and one item in one end and something else on the other end, water enters one tunnel then wind exits another which turns into clouds. It all seems linked to me, go on and ask someone how often they needed something and it turns up on their curb side. I find it interesting to see just how many people this happens to. A while back I felt sad and since the universe dumped an excessive amount of talent this way, I decided to paint a portrait of my sadness to make other people feel sad when they stop and watch the artwork. This isn’t a self portrait. Since a smile is contagious, so is everything else. I added a severed hand, the idea originally spawned from a recently sold artwork ‘The Decomposed Musician’ then I decided it’s representative of the memories that keep their grip. Floating fruit in the background representing my art goals as unfocused 3D glasses since being sad makes it hard to focus on them. Birds stuck in the wall, unlike all my other bird artworks where they fly freely and a frame around her head as women are strongly influenced to keep from confronting issues and sit pretty, until it’s too late to communicate. In this artwork I play with psychology and gentrification. As I opened Saatchiart to upload one of my artworks another “artwork” caught my attention. This was priced at $20K+, so I clicked onto the artwork to see what majestic concept the “artist” aimed to channel. None. The listing literally said ‘décor’. I’m offended. So offended turned my offence into an artwork. ‘Simulation theory’ then kicks in and I happened to stumble across a massive canvas to repurpose for this concept. I decided to genuinely show off my talent in this piece although price it stupidly high on the online galleries and have no description, to give the impression it’s décor. I’m assuming the gallery will place it in a nice position since they’ll make a huge commission, I aim for the viewers to question the price. Leading them to see my other artworks and seeing a huge discrepancy. I wonder if the viewers will then look up my name and see this description on my own website to see I’m mocking the gentrification of décor artists and have a real description and appropriate price here (according to my level of fame). The game here is if someone ends up buying it direct, they win the game… If they go through a gallery without finding the true meaning of the artwork, I win the game. I risk being kicked off the online galleries with this artwork although that’s part of the statement I’m making. I tried painting this in 9 days although finished it in ten, because of the timeline I gave myself there’s definitely some tiny parts where I could have calculated the paint drying better so there are a few touch-ups which don’t reflect my aim to entirely show off my talent… The items in the artwork aren’t meant to have meaning however I definitely painted it with a story in mind, that’s just the way it worked out. This is another painting form the eleven that I worked on in one week and I began with the idea of a guitar growing plants, I liked this idea since plants grow better when surrounded by music and the impact of music on it's surrounding in general. The painting also has the bow saluting back to the cello, and I couldn't decide whether the blue shape is a window or a reflection of a window from outside of the left of the painting, there's a light source from both. While painting the painting I asked Insta what they thought the painting would turn out to be and my pen pal replied with a cello. After looking up the difference I decided that cello's are more interesting to paint and should probably go with it. This painting has sparked another idea for a future painting. I'd been looking for plant pots and came across a listing where the owner had a cat statue and next to it a zebra statue, the zebra had been cut off in the photo so for a moment I thought I'd been looking at a cat with zebra stripes. So I painted a cat with zebra stripes. I wanted to include aspects from a recent paintings 'Self Portrait as Caravaggio as Bacchus' as I enjoyed painting the leaf that folds with the table, this time I painted it with an excessive amount of leaves and as if the cat is a zebra as Bacchus. This time with more aspects that I'd call Bacchus... If this cat's going to be a god of wine then it should be in total control of the vines. So the vines float up around the cat-zebra. I'm also a fan of animals not being perfect in my paintings so I painted this one with an amputated leg, replaced with a wheel. Recently I started reading books (instead of articles), I figured the amount of effort it takes to whip up an article has become almost benign and isn't as factual as they used to be so I read some books. The first one was a motivational book (so I'd be motivated to read more books) and not long after I found myself trying to read all the books instantly, I needed to finish them all. So I decided to create a painting about that. The woman in this painting wears an old style dress (because books are an old resource) and is covered by books, floating in a room. I painted the roof a leopard print drooping down and the floor large leaves or grass. Each of the roof and floor interact with the woman as if they're books and she's absorbing the knowledge. The woman is shown to shoot out clouds out the window which, for me, is what she gives back. Oil based, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity!

This is my third attempt at painting gold using flat oil paints. For my first two attempts I'd been trying to mimic a print from a digital artwork I created although this time round I took note that that isn't working for me and decided to take a photo of my cutlery and work off that. This time I noticed that I should be using shades of beige and small amounts of white and black, and not to put yellow on it. Yellow is too saturated. I decided that as a surrealist (you can see this in the video) that I stopped painting a normal step looking platform I decided to mmake it curved to show off the malleable-ness of the cutlery This is the artwork I ended up with, I feel like it's a big step forward from my last two attempts although hoping to nail it in the future.This is a reflection of my skill level at this age. I created this artwork with an idea in mind to continue on from another artwork I'd painted, yet from a different angle (as you can see in the video) then decided to ditch that idea and paint a ledge, similar to my other flat earth paintings except with the idea in mind to merge the water and land into a watery land. Some may see it as a close up on the edge of a table cloth instead. The artwork is empty and lacks lively presence on purpose, my goal for the painting was to make it feel alone, as if if you were there you would be in a very quiet serene environment. This is my second last lockdown painting, at this point I'm experimenting with creating artworks from different angles. I started painting this painting with the intention of making sales in the desert forming from the ground (similar to my 'I Love My Leather Gloves' painting), then quickly changed my mind to create a church with a high roof and a never ending room filled with flowers. It reminds me of my grandma, she's super religious and often preaching, I imagine going to church would feel like this for her, a room full of flowers and daylight – hope. This is a painting very different to my others, I made it during my lockdown challenge and it became super clear I'd been repeating the same setting in each different painting so I decided that since I'm making different types of paintings I should create a very 2D style one as well. At the time I'd just started learning about illusions and this includes one where geometric shapes sit at a particular spot to create the illusion that there's another image. Here people are convinced there's a vase, yet there's no actual vase being painted. I also threw in my surrealist flare and painted the flowers different colours to their natural colour, similar to my fruit bowl painting. I made this painting right after my Apple Tree painting and decided to carry on the idea of a pear shape which resembles the back of a woman’s head, also having so many paintings that feature one item in the centre I wanted to break away from a style I'd made for myself and feature repetition instead. This is a painting I made with the intention to play with illusions. I painted the bricks so that the viewer questions whats going on there, along with the wall, whether its painted the same colour as the sky or glass? At first, if you check out the video you might see this, I started to paint the woman as glass and ended up playing with the pear as if it resembles a woman. I also intended to paint the pear as a guitar although decided to paint it as is and add some attitude, as if it's slouching there. The aim of this painting was to create a serene scene, as if the pear and the woman-pear are watching the tree grow and drop fruit. This was quite a fun artwork, naturally, as a plant person, I bought myself a pineapple to chop the top and grow my own because I think they looks cool, like the new pineapple sits in it’s own thrown as it grows. I also photograph anything interesting I come by so I can use it in a digital artwork. Following this I managed to create many pineapple artworks and this was the first. It also follows a phase where I practiced creating artificial lasers in my digital artworks.
