Recently I started reading books (instead of articles), I figured the amount of effort it takes to whip up an article has become almost benign and isn’t as factual as they used to be so I read some books. The first one was a motivational book (so I’d be motivated to read more books) and not long after I found myself trying to read all the books instantly, I needed to finish them all. So I decided to create a painting about that. The woman in this painting wears an old style dress (because books are an old resource) and is covered by books, floating in a room. I painted the roof a leopard print drooping down and the floor large leaves or grass. Each of the roof and floor interact with the woman as if they’re books and she’s absorbing the knowledge. The woman is shown to shoot out clouds out the window which, for me, is what she gives back.
