This ended up being a long standing favourite digital artwork of mine. I had a friend back in 2018 that I went riding with and we went down through The Royal National Park, NSW. I saw a shot so I pulled over to take photo’s and he raced ahead then thought something happened to me. Later on we went to visit his parents who have alpacas and I used one of those photos with the road photo to make a flying aplaca on an adventure.

I’m pretty proud of this one! I guess it’s mostly photography as opposed to surreal artworks like all my other artworks but it’s a great shot on its own without needing manipulation. However if you’re a photographer you’d know you can’t just take this photo and have the lighting in the background work with the lighting inside the tunnel so I took two with different settings and merged them accordingly.

This was an earlier artwork from 2017, I took a photo of my cousin in ‘Old Town’ Plovdiv, Bulgaria, where a tree grows from the stone and decided that I wanted to manipulate my cousin so she’s disintegrating. It was a style I wanted to have a go at, later on I changed the way I use digital brushes and managed to master this tactic differently.

Law Needs Crime

While in uni we covered the topic of whether graffiti is art or criminal (spoiler, the law says any paint on any surface that you don’t own is crime) which lead to the lecturer stating that law needs crime, the police need the criminals to keep coming in order to exist. That thought, alongside recently dealing with insane people (check out my car sign being stolen video now on YT as an example) I experienced how difficult it is to have the justice system help you out when your issue is small, yet still invasive enough that in black and white you are entitled to the help. Rewarding bad behaviour I guess. So you end up stressed out dealing with an insane person and on top of that dealing with the stress of not having a problem entertaining enough for actual help and knowing there will be consequences if you stand up for yourself outside the justice system. So the cycle continues, you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place while the system primes you to join the insanity club hoping you’ll just defend yourself. I don’t think I expressed that idea well in this artwork so I’m thinking I’ll redo it, but here’s the first version. This is the system and the lollipop begins whole then melts and is pumped back up to build up the lollipop again. I added a cloud as the environment causing the loop but I definitely regret the lightning added. This artwork is one of my twenty-one artworks in twenty-one days and I ended up rushing it so it’s definitely not my peak performance. I was watching the Zuckerberg Joe Rogan interview and Zuckerberg is ‘Red pilling’ just a bit… Over the past year I’ve been watching conspiracy theories for art but the ones I’ve seen (most of them) have merit. However, you can’t explain that to someone who hasn’t given more than two seconds to any of these theories without being labelled a conspiracy theorist. It’s the same as giving a movie half the trailer. I found it important to watch different people discuss the same topic. So this is the red pill… Being labelled a conspiracy theorist. I put a laser for the pyramid plant theory, a wrap to represent muslims (soon to make an artwork about religions), a satellite for the propaganda, the document where Albanese tried to cancel the internet, a COVID clot and more. Sometimes I find myself hanging around people who are very preoccupied with whatever event they’re planning or mediocre activities like who they’re dating and it’s hard to maintain an actual conversation that would still be relevant in years time, like how video games improve hand eye coordination, or the pyramids. I remember talking to someone and when I brought up something less surface level she’d say “mhmm” and not add to the thought. It’s hard to find like-minded people so I painted a thinking statue, between two surfaces, I like to see it that one is filled with the faces of people who do the 9-5 and their conversations don’t extend much further than their work dramas, very important to them, but still surface level. Then on the roof it’s another perspective where there’s people who think they’re entirely different to the ones following life’s expectations but still aren’t digging deep, the topics of conversation still revolve around why this isn’t happening or that doesn’t work. No Magic

As I watched an astrology lecture I noticed one of the astrologers who’s opinion I respect mention “magic”. At first I thought he was joking then I realised, no, this person genuinely believes in magic. Down the magic rabbit hole I went and learnt that there’s a whole community that believe in magic. Respectable people. Listening to how they came to make sense of it made sense to me and up it’s to this artwork description reader to learn for themselves. However the gist is these people are manipulating the luck they have at hand, not working spells to be billionaires that we’d all assume. I continue this train of thought in a different artwork, however this idea pivots in comparison to the other. During my rabbit hole hunt I came across a story about a well respected psychologist(?) who had the chance to speak somewhere. He picked someone from the audience to take his jacket and he’ll give them $10. Gladly they did. Until he told them a murderer owned this jacket. How can you entirely dismiss magic yet believe a jacket is tainted because a murderer owned it. Perhaps some people are more in tune, a sentence that comes up often. I painted the jacket in the forefront, and each pear representing people front and centre, however the more in tune pear had a mini world swirling around it. Perhaps this could be the most interesting still life image you’ll see today. If you can call it still life. I woke up from a dream shortly before painting this artwork, well... I thought I woke up from a dream, then I thought I woke up from a dream again, then I woke to a dream that was actually a dream then I actually woke up. I found this insane, I’d never had such a weird experience and had to paint it, I felt like Christopher Nolan must have had a similar dream in order to feel compelled to write ‘Inception’. All that aside, I rushed into painting it and don’t think I captured what I felt, but here’s to the first attempt! The first two dreams were entirely mundane which threw me off, the last one, clearly I was in a dream at that point. So I painted an entry, a super basic entry, then a garden, then a wave in a room. I originally decided to paint a woman looking out the window with furniture floating around and as I created the artwork I decided that the room should be relatively empty and have a scene of presence at the same time which brought me to paint the chair in front of the window with a woman sitting in it as the shadow. I didn't feel like painting the corner of the room in the corner so I centred it adding to the centre focus. I did put thought into the floor although as the painting wrapped up it didn't turn out as I would have ideally made the pattern. I also chose to whip out a Magritte and paint the chair with the image of the sky on it. I made this painting right after my Apple Tree painting and decided to carry on the idea of a pear shape which resembles the back of a woman’s head, also having so many paintings that feature one item in the centre I wanted to break away from a style I'd made for myself and feature repetition instead. This painting is somewhat a follow-up on some of my digital artworks that I've created based on zoo animals with wheels for feet. As if they're in wheel chairs, there aren't enough artworks representing the disabled in my opinion. The painting is of two single coloured paintings where one is torn down and the other has the giraffes head peeking through it, like a window. The sky then rubs off on the giraffe and leaks into the home as if it represents a positive disposition. After understanding the differences and how society overlooks disabled people, I feel like they generally have a much more cheerful outlook on life than abled people I meet, a rare quality. I made this painting after learning that for each language there's a sign language... instead of there only being one universal sign language. So I learnt a bit, this painting has a hand on the left which says hello in Bulgarian (BSL) and no in Auslan. The whole genre seemed exclusive and excluded to me. Bulgaria only just passed a bill to recognize BSL as a language in January of this year (2021), before that, from what I've learnt, they would learn Russian sign language in school and then adopt their own in the real world. I feel like that's just how Bulgarians do things, their own way. I painted a clear sheet falling down, metaphorical for the language barriers. So you say “Hi” in Bulgarian and rejected with a “No” in Auslan. Oil Based, hand stretched, signed and ready to hang with a certificate of authenticity.

I started off painting this painting with the intention of making a raised platform with a boat floating on top.. Didn't happen. Sometimes the paintings I make just make themselves and are entirely unplanned, this one ended up with vines and by that time I'd decided I wanted flowers at the end of the vines to be birds. The way I see it is the vines are your roots and when the flower blossoms and drained everything it can from the roots then the birds fly away. I decided to paint this painting after watching a string of documentaries, by chance I watched Michelangelo after de Vinci and feel like I already knew they shared a lifetime although just found it interesting. Since they weren't friends I decided to paint them having a battle. I covered the floor in each of their most famous painting, ironically that seems to be the territory they fought over, yet neither of them reported to enjoy painting. The sky on da Vinci's side is darker, as If the suns set on him, Michelangelo is on a platform, as if it's similar to the one he painted the Sistine Chapel on, fighting with his statue of David. De Vinci (the man on the ground) fights wearing the armour he designed and also uses some weapons he designed. Hand stretched, sold with a certificate of authenticity and hooks ready to hang! A thought crossed my mind where everyone always has a problem they're dealing with, I don't believe anyone's left without a problem for long. So I painted this maze, the person in the painting builds crossings at each dead end, one section where they cut a plank from the ground (using the recourses you have) and other ladders made from ropes dropped from the sky. I really enjoyed this painting, although I don't believe it's reached it potential so I'll be making a large sequel as soon as I get my hands on a canvas of that size. It’s an artwork I still look back at and think, “I really hit the mark with this”. Birds are meant to represent freedom and money is meant to unlock freedom. But how much have you sold your soul for corporate life? I tell my friends that as an artist, yes my income is currently lower (until one day), but I’m just as wealthy as the next because I’m spending my time doing what I love. Whereas when you work in a place you don’t enjoy, you only have about 2 hours each day as actual leisure, then the weekends, sometimes filled with chores (unless you have robots). So naturally, you spend whatever money you have on compensating. So there you go, there’s your freedom dampened by the man. This idea came to mind a few months ago after a guy who was learning to be a journalist asked me for an interview, I eventually asked for it to be removed from everywhere. After pondering on this idea for a while I began to realise that most, if not all the people in my life don't really or entirely know me. Some had been in my life the entire time and couldn't even tell you my pass times, other's I had just met and after a few meetings they still hadn't figured out I'm an artist (which is what my life revolves around). Imagine every second of your life is written in a book, the book grows each day and someone comes along and rips out a few paragraphs and runs off as if they've figured you out 100%. That's what I've painted here, the person runs off and in the background flails the page into the wind as birds pick off the words and leave them scattered. I thought I'd make a painting showing how I'd assume anxiety feels, although I don't really relate to the painting which made it more difficult to make it look different to how it looks. Over-all, ironically, I still don't vibe with it. Looks like that's what happens when you paint about something you don't know! I've painted a perfectly shaped mask hiding a face which is melting away, the surroundings are glasses falling and breaking and clouds cover the eye holes making it dark for the person behind the mask. My 2022 new years resolution had been to counteract my contribution to landfill by saving items being thrown out that could be recycled at the recycling center, scrap metal or weren’t rubbish and could be sold. I ended up defeating my net zero landfill goal and saving carloads more than I threw out, and as a result it really brings me down to see piles of landfill contributions that could have been avoided with minimal effort. As I continued to see piles of “trash” I wondered what the difference is between throwing something out into landfill and digging up a hole and burying in your backyard. I can only think of one difference, convenience. If you didn’t have the option to bury your unwanted items elsewhere, would you put more effort into disposing of them properly, would this have a chain reaction on the consumer culture? I painted a fence for this, one side is your backyard and the other is the countries backyard. I painted items which don’t belong in landfill emerging from gaps in the land. Some items even with tags, just like real life. I also included dead leaves and the hole where the items fall in and out of as a wormhole. This probably wont be my final artwork on landfill, having already made on on how canvas prints contribute, although this is the one I’ve made for now. This is a painting I decided to paint out of frustration for the weird situation some men put women in! When in a professional setting and a man spends the conversation staring at your boobs there isn't much you can do without severing the deal or putting yourself in a situation where people label you a “bitch”. I've learnt that if I just stand about 4m away then I can't see if they're looking at my boobs or not... This is off-putting behaviour at best and I put it in the category of spitting and peeing in public – not due to gender but behaviour, a clear choice. I tried to make the woman myself although she turned out quite boney so I missed the mark a tad. The men around are random and dressed in PJ's, because they're dreaming. The man closest to the viewer looks at the viewer as if to wait in anticipation for his turn. I painted the landscape as a collection of boobs, boobs are everywhere and that's a fact. Another man in the painting can't deal and buries is head in the ground. I dressed the woman as if she woke up and dressed her self in a presentable manner, I always dress well - even when there's no where to be - although have accidentally lead people to think I'm dressing well for them... When I visit Bulgaria it's clear that they also dress well more often than Aussies so I'd put that to my heritage. I painted a fold in the dress shaped as lips as if it's a secret signal which isn't actually there. This is an artwork I decided to paint when something didn’t go as planned so I sat on the balcony with my coffee contemplating it. Then I thought about all the times I’ve sat there with my coffee thinking something through. So that’s the birth of this concept, all the coffee’s you’ve had just sitting around thinking deeply. I also wanted to show movement and a little chaos around the subject and feel like I achieved it with this one. I decided to paint this artwork just because I want you, the person reading this right now, to know that during the Cold War the CIA decided to strap cameras on pigeons to spy. I found this hilarious and wanted you to know about it too. The main reason I found it hilarious is as an avid DIY-er I’ve had more than enough things turn out wobbly, and this is exactly how this project turned out, a bit wobbly. The footage wasn’t ideal. As a surrealist I needed to paint this artwork in a surreal manner, plus that’s far more interesting than just human-printing out a photo you can look up. I wanted them to appear a bit strange, the way you’d feel if one landed near you. As I you’re being watched. So I added a chromatic effect and leads to the hands that are watching you. I also wanted to embody the kind of background I’d create in my digital artworks, a clear reflection as if they’re on glass and tried to use green as the sky, like my ‘Surrealists and Psychology’ artwork. This is one of my twenty-one artworks in twenty-one days. I’m not proud of this one and I didn’t time manage well at all. But it’s here and ready for its new home. I’ll try again one day. The concept for this one was to make an artwork that tells a story, which I think it does do. The way ‘Hotel California’ or ‘Hazard’, or any of Bosch artwork’s tell stories, so I whipped out my tarot deck and decided to paint three cards. I rushed it so this is the result. I wanted to include three different clouds and areas as if the protagonist is either returning or venturing out and looking back. The story is up to you. I’m minding my own business a lot of the time. This guy who wasn’t felt like stirring the pot so I made an artwork with the following thought. My Bumble account clearly displays that I’m interested in astrology, it eloquently counteracts the motorbike so the guys interested for the wrong reasons tend to be scared off by the astrology. A guy one day thought he’d take that into account and begin arguing at me… At. He sent photos intended to offend any religion but he didn’t understand that astrology isn’t a religion. So it felt like arguing with an idiot since he had no idea what he was so against, repeatedly emphasising he’s an atheist. After that I really wondered, why are these atheists so insistent on converting people with beliefs, they’re trying to use reason but faith isn’t based on reason… It’s purely belief so you can’t argue with science. The thought then continues to where you see this artwork, people who truely believe in something have a sense of everything being fine, and just a bit rocky on the way. I feel like I can blindly follow my gut knowing my career will work out because I believe the universe has my back. So how are these people living their lives if they don’t have any faith that they’re here for a reason. I painted a brick path leading into a ditch, behind it a rose coloured glass wall where the people who do believe make the leap and land. Tear drops are scattered everywhere around the landscape, the universe is crying. I also believe that it’s important to be kind since we’re a communal species and literally work together to continue living. If someone’s going around mindlessly attacking others, intending to shatter their sense of purpose the world is affected through a chain reaction. So this is the atheists making the universe cry. Call for Shitty Artists

In case another artist glances over this artwork, this is aimed at some of my peers. As someone who isn’t surrounded by art lovers or enthusiasts I’m letting you know that the general public still and has always looked at artworks with no effort put in it and ask themselves “WTF is this shit?”. I will redo this concept with a different take however when I saw someone on tv explaining to someone else it’s what the artwork makes them feel I felt like painting this. I feel conned from both perspectives as a viewer and an artist. I feel conned that someone else created something that looks like a 5 yr old made it and expects people to buy into it (literally) without giving the buyer a good reason except for the artists name being attached to it. As an artist I feel conned as people don’t have high expectations until they see my artworks, these artworks create a low bar of expectations and make the career choice look bad. I’m embarrassed to be in the same (general) category. I aimed for a simple artwork for two reasons, 80 artworks in 79 days, and I originally imaged a statue of a bust, giant like this one and half finished by one of these trendy artists. I painted a paint brush thrown at it, since that’s what I imagine these people are doing. I’ll have another go at this with an entirely different scene soon. You can see this trend particularly pronounced in elite art competitions, “Call for shitty artists”, said no one ever. It’s time for people creating these to reconnect with the general public over an elite crowd propping them up. This artwork is a slight continuation from last week and a mix of another artwork I created a while back which I enjoy, ‘Midnight Snack’. There’s something I haven’t been able to recreate about that artwork yet so I gave it another go with this artwork (not quite there yet). I’m really into my crepes, I think I’ve got them down. Each day at brunch I have a lovely snack with crepes admiring how the plants have grown over the past day. I have them with a coffee, ham and creamed honey and used to have a swarm of bees visit (hoping to staunch some honey). This is a painting I decided to paint out of disappointment I never received any roses from a failed relationship. Although I didn’t want to just paint a bouquet of flowers, like some “décor artist”. I began with the hand reaching out and the flowers drifting off in the wind. As I painted it I did receive a gesture although it felt empty, a compensation for communication which to me, entirely exhausted my efforts, so I then began to paint the leaves closest to the hand turning into drops of blood. I did have plans to turn the leaves floating away as transparent but I grew bored of the artwork and wrapped it up there. I also have more work to do in painting flowers. Things You Think You Own

This is an artwork I decided to paint after the thought crossed my mind that no one actually owns anything, if you have a pet bird the only reasons you believe you own it is because you either formed a bond or it’s stuck in a cage. The same principle could be applied to other humans, if you’re in any type of relationship with someone you can’t claim you own them because society has labelled that action as anti-social. You don’t own anyone, you’ve formed a bond to keep them around or they’re being held hostage. On that idea I painted a bird carrying a pear with a barcode print on them. The concept of not actually owning anything seems harder to grasp with inanimate objects such as a pear, you don’t own a pear either, you tell people it’s yours and out of respect, inconvenience or fear they don’t take it from you. This is a painting I decided to paint in reference to two other artworks, ‘Midnight Snack’ and ‘Dreaming of Tidal Waves’. I enjoy painting in that style and felt like painting a dark artwork having ventured into difference styles recently. I intended on painting some form of dreaming and as I tried to paint through sleep (I’d been creating ten artworks that week) I repeatedly woke from mini-almost naps with new ideas for this artwork. Unfortunately I didn’t allow myself enough time to include all the ideas (they’re included in my YouTube artventure video though) although I do believe I managed to reach an entry level representation of waking up. I painted the clear sheet of water as the feeling of moving from sleep to wake and the deep thick, non-transparent water as the sleep. I originally planned to include my pineapple hot air balloon from other artworks although that didn’t work out so I lead the rope to nowhere. Everyday I eat pancakes and in general pretty much drink honey. One day the light hit the honey jar and decided to paint it. Since I pretty much drink it I decided to paint the honey in a fluid manner taking over the fruit around it. This is a painting I painted during my week of painting eleven paintings and decided I needed to paint a giraffe that blends in with the sky and stands on bubbles, somewhat uncertain mimicking the way people tend to be much more flakey these days. When plans are “definitely” on, it's this type of definitely, like a giraffe standing on bubbles as a solid ground type of definitely. If you watch the screen recording of it being made or my reel on instagram you'll see I changed my mind a bit about the shape of the giraffe and whether it's head will be in the painting. This is a painting I created with a similar idea in mind to a digital artwork I created after the Christchurch shooting where the countries blood stain a top. I'd included all the countries in the digital artwork although this time wanted to emphasise the diversity of the countries. I'm often watching geography and history videos and a student recently asked me if the war with Ukraine would start WWIII. Without knowing the history of all the wars of the world it would seem that way but when you look up the history of each country there's usually a war included. So I painted it as if this is the load of washing you've done and you've hung it out to dry, to stay that way. I also tried to include an aspect I included in an older painting, 'The Essence of Freedom' where the flowers represents birds enjoying freedom. This time the wing is also hung out to dry. Dreaming of Tidal Waves

I used to have dreams of tidal waves, people like to jump to conclusions and say that's anxiety.. I reckon sometimes dreams are just dreams, especially if you remember them all you're bound to have some that aren't boring. I found these dreams pretty cool because as time went on I learnt how to dream-swim and beat the tidal wave. Then when I figured it out the dreams changed. The last one I climbed up on top of a building and the water settled around all the buildings into a flood, so this is that. I wanted to paint the sky so that it blends in with the water, like an actual dream you cant tell what's what. I decided not to paint the top of the head because there's no thinking in dreams. Birds Eye View

I haven't made a birds eye view painting since I was little so I decided I need one in my portfolio. At first I started painting the painting as a giant bird in the desert cages in by arrows, I wanted the spots to be seeping off the bird into the desert. Instead I ended up painting, what I see as, a bird in the sky and we're viewing the cage from the birds view (just above it) the spots ended up curving as it's own cage downward to the top and upward at the bottom, so if you saw it on the side view the cage of spots would be an S shape. The painting reminds me of how people perceive lockdown (currently in a massive one), in the cage or being the cage? I chose to use lockdown to my advantage and whip out an artwork a day, I'm not in the cage in this case. It's up to the viewer to decide how they interpret this painting. This is an anti totalitarian artwork. There can't be a society where everyones an entrepreneur or everyone does what they're told, it just wouldn't work. I feel like I could have captured that idea better, perhaps in a darker scene. I painted a road with a directional arrow being pulled up into the direction of the life boat, a lollipop representing the no entry street sign and in the corner a hand of someone who's legged it. Sarcastic Doughnut

I made this painting with a goal in mind to paint the look of gold, I recently had some digital artworks of gold doughnuts I created printed and wanted to wrap my mind around why a printer can print CMYK and have the image look gold and whether I could be just as precise with my flat colours and tones to create gold. I think I need more practice and do think it's somewhat doable although I'm not there yet. I call it sarcastic doughnut, as if the doughnuts saying “Yeah man, I can be gold”. This is one of my hand-stretched ones, has a certificate of authenticity and always sold with hooks ready to hang!

Car Lessons

Recently I retired my latest car.. reluctantly. Which caused me to reflect on how my previous cars have held a theme for what I was doing at that time in my life. My first car, I never liked the colour and didn't have a choice in it (although purchased it myself) from 'day dot' I said I'd paint it blue. It never turned out blue but I gained some skills spray-painting cars, this car went all the colours. The day it was written off I had big plans for the next spray. The next car, above it. I carried on the spray-painting only once and learnt how to wire up electricity. I ended up putting 22 indicators on it, like a mini truck, and put another models headlights on it. The bottom lit up with blue as I high-beamed. That car didn't last long. The final car I decided it was time to look like an adult, so I sprayed it only to fix the previous owners blemishes. I kept the lights as normal to possible and practiced how to advertise with it (without permanently altering the car). Since this painting I've tied in all the lessons I'd learnt from my previous cars in my new one, I've sprayed it, hooked up lights and made an unmissable advertisement for my books. I found it very interesting how people become attached to cars and not other objects, as if you become the car. Oil based, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity!

Devils Lake

This is a painting inspired by an event, Uranus transiting my 7th house, where you tend to shake off relationships that aren't working. I had some people from a past life lure their way back in only to notice the same patterns started before I'd even seen them. The lake has spikes, I imagine how uncomfortable that lake would be to swim in.. spiky water which is fenced off, a barrier. I've painted a hand (mine) stretching down from the sky dipping it's finger in the water through the fence, expressing how much of a stretch it would be for me to actually give that lake any real attention. This painting was inspired by a little tangent I went on after being asked the question “What's your biggest weakness” when I put myself up for an opportunity. I ended up saying something along the lines of “I don't get why people get so bothered when you're late or bad with time.. It's like they've chosen to live their life strictly to a religion of time and expect everyone else to do the same in dictatorship. I don't live my life by that religion and that should be acceptable”. I found that a little funny, hyperbolic yet resinates. So this is my painting to represent it. The statue is my head, I guess, just a female, made of sand emerging from the ground and cut off as if it's thoughts are purely time. My clock has no order, the numbers float away, turning into yellow birds. The water also represents the constant flowing where you'll (in general) never get a grip. It's hand stretched with a certificate of authenticity and always sold with hooks.

I made this painting following a digital artwork of fruit that wasn't the correct shapes, and ran with the banana idea. The concept is based around the way lots of people live their lives, unnaturally posed in front of a screen ordering takeaway, connected to the other screens and that's their reality. The outdoors of the painting was going to include magenta (to have a mix of CMYK.. graphic design jargon) although it looked too space-like for my liking. It's hand stretched with a certificate of authenticity and always sold with hooks.

Vegan

I felt like making another fruit bowl painting although with a cow hide skin instead of fruit skin, I thought about having one fruit cut open although that idea's probably going to be for a sequel painting. I call it vegan, I'm not the biggest fan of vegan diets so I guess this is my expression that there's no substitute for meat. Can be taken lightly as a metaphor for tofu and how vegans transform it into all the flavours.
