This artwork is representative of how people spend their money, I find that majority of people my age (I was roughly mid-20’s, millennial) use loans as their savings account instead of actually saving, their money tree would be a tap straight down into the ground and this is how I wanted to paint that. This artwork is oil based, isn’t one of my hand-stretched ones and sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.

This idea began to brew as I created the artwork prior which showcased a pear in the sky as a home, I wanted to create a home that was more front and center but also wanted to make a very surreal animal. So from there I merged the ideas of a door through an elephant. The artwork grew from there and this is the result.

I think this artwork hits home harder for residents in Melbourne. The buyer ended up being from there. When I paint cacti I like to think of them of versions of people and I’m really proud of how this one turned out. At the time, COVID had hit and we were all required to wear masks out in public. Some people inferred that at ini your car with all your windows up too, studies also show it didn’t make a difference and anyone with an opposing opinion was silenced. So whether you see this as the cactus was silenced or the cactus wants to wear the mask it’s up to you. Turning a photo into jelly is a challenge, it’s something I wanted to try now that I’ve polished off a few angles of my beetle photos. I don’t think I totally mastered it, although very good first try. They’re more like lollipops instead of jelly.

We all knew for the dawn of time that if you peek over at the smart kids test and copy them you get absolutely nowhere once school ends. For some reason the exact same lesson in a different futuristic concept with robots seems to be entirely lost. I began painting a dodo wedged between a stack of books aiming to look as if he’d outsmarted the system by not reading the books. Then that wasn’t going well and I went to Europe and returned to abandon the idea. Then as I painted the artwork decided to return to the concept but this time with far more detail. I painted my bird flowers (flowers that fly off into birds) then decided that some of them decide to take a swim in the Kool-aid/ golden lake then lose their wings and climb up the stack of books as if that’s their key to freedom. It’s not flying if you’re just standing up in a high spot. Interestingly as I painted this I learnt that dodo’s weren’t dumb but evolved without any predators which lead hem to extinction. Since being dumb is their reputation I kept with it. It’s a human thing. This artwork is one of my hand-stretched ones, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.

This is a somewhat continuation on my ‘Doughnut Town’ and ‘Ice Cream Town’, although this time, since I’ve transformed my giraffe in so many ways I wanted them all exploding from my new giraffe statue as an artistic presentation of collection of work. If you check out the behind the scenes video you’ll see I almost used the alpaca although due to logistics had to ditch the idea. This turned out quite fitting.

This was another challenge artwork to see how well I could execute painting a digital artwork of mine. I think I did alright but it’s still a challenge in general because we’re comparing pixels vs paint. I titled it ‘Carbon Footprint’ because sometimes to be seen as an artist you need to play into the current social agenda, we are always asked to tick boxes what social issue that is currently popular we believe in. Once you do then your artwork is deemed fit to be shared in specific spaces where it has higher visibility. It’s a sad side of being an artist, it encourages people to become sell-outs. At the time I wanted my artworks in competitions, not realising yet it’s who you know. So I had to title it something that gave meaning to environmental issues. This artwork is oil based, is one of my hand-stretched ones and sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.

Recently before creating this artwork (one of my 80), I’d turned my giraffe into zebra print and cleaned up the beetle photos. I imagined something slightly different (less busy) when thinking I wanted to be one of those people who’d created an artwork with a zoo animal in a car. However after putting it together I found it a bit small and needed to give the two a scene. From there I decided to pull up the paint, add a fence made of bicycles the add the flying cars from another recent artwork (which hasn’t been shared yet).

This artwork was inspired by the way media interprets stories and collectively promote one end when in real life there are always many sides to the story. The artwork is a 90's television with the colour bars pouring into the ocean (into the real world) and two alternate perspectives. This artwork consist of three small, oil based, canvases, 30.5cm each, and isn't one of my hand-stretched artworks. They will come ready to hang.

This is a digital artwork I created during my 80 artworks and as I leave the home I have my ‘Hungry Giraffe’ artwork on the door which doesn’t include springs but each of these reminds me of the other. I also wanted to use the elephant more since I’d recently cleaned up the photo to a better level. I also re-created the spring so that it’s straight and could look more like legs. This is where those ideas ended up.

My first cactus artwork was a hit and people encouraged me to create more, of the same… After a while I learnt that people who aren’t artists have very bad marketing ideas, you reading this are no exception. But I gave it a go as well as another artwork, ‘Fate’ which turned out quite cute. This one is an alternate universe where the cactus has the ability to dodge the event that was fated to happen, kind of similar to when people do everything to to and avoid an event that makes them learn something the hard way. This artwork is oil based, is one of my hand-stretched ones and sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.

During my 80 artworks challenge I made whatever came to mind, I began this with an entirely different idea (check out the video documentations) where I wanted to create a bird with leaves for feathers. Unfortunately with the style that I manipulate the photos to, the leaves looked too doctored and I couldn’t achieve the desired outcome. So I rage quit and made a bird version of a previous artwork, ‘Hungry Giraffe’ which is also the pixel test print I see every time I leave my home. Now it has a pair.

This is an appropriation and a moment in time where I looked at my final Dali artwork. For a little while, I was receiving compliments that my work is reminiscent of that of Salvador Dali, I researched him and decided his painting “Suez” is my favourite. I then decided to appropriate it. I found the original quite funny, this is a play on that and perhaps a continual.. Both slightly comical. I then decided I didn’t want to be seen as a copycat and this was the last time I ever looked at any of his artworks. Sometimes I see them in passing and think, yeah we do share a style but I’m not subconsciously copying. This artwork is oil based, is one of my hand-stretched ones and sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.

Prior to this artwork I photographed and used lego in my ‘Doughnut Town’, since then I decided to create lego in Blender and use it in an artwork. This giraffe has also been through a lot in my artworks and I came up with the idea of turning it’s spots into lego. As I created it I then decided to turn the environment into lego. If you’ve been through a lego phase as an adult I’m sure you vibe with this giraffe.

I decided to make a paining of a moment. I once had a romance with a guy for years and he stood out from the rest but it didn't work out and I never looked him up again. I was posting a load of my books last year and I noticed him glancing my way for a noticeable amount of time. The painting shows a woman made of sand building her life path, her hand moves the bricks away from the direction of the statue, her mind guides it and her legs walk it. Moving forward in every respect. A light river of gossip crosses her path yet not strong enough to move any of the bricks. His statue once sand has turned to glass, decorated with two memories and surrounded with clouds vaguely signifying wolfs which represents his friends. The glass, solidifying his choices, never to catch up with the front of her path ever again. This artwork is one of my hand-stretched ones, and always sold with hooks ready to hang!

This is a digital artwork I decided to create during my 80 artworks and wanted to turn my other photographs into statues, following the lead of an actual statue photograph I took years ago in Vienna (I think) and also cut out my other car photos so they’re useable for future artworks as well. After starting I realised it wont sit as I imagined since I still placed the statues alongside the road but didn’t have suitable material to create a sidewalk. In the end I like how it’s super crammed and decided to name it accordingly.

When I was younger there wasn't much lactose free substitutes available and always thought that when I get older there'll be heaps. There aren't (in Australia) although I find it somewhat ironic that major companies opt to jump straight to vegan food to be inclusive of those with intolerances. Yet I'd prefer to opt out of those products and make my own, entirely skipping on the mass production. I see tofu as a kind of “fake” food, it's often mimicking other food and never the hero of a meal. This painting's mocking vegan food (as I do.. lol), the pear represents the tofu and a clear drape over it as if it's a cow hide, my representation of when people use tofu to make “meat”. Instead of human cameramen I used pink peacocks because I feel the genre is super glorified, often in the spotlight and shaming other diets. It's ultimately up to the viewer to determine how they want to perceive the painting. Sold with hooks, ready to hang, a certificate of authentication and oil based!

I decided to create this as I like it when people create mini worlds and turn regular objects into homes. This is often done with a shoe. I wanted to create a different mini world floating on a cloud similar to my ‘Doughnut Town’, ‘Ice Cream Town’ and some other upcoming artworks you’ll see eventually. It didn’t turn out as expected due to the resolution of the photos I could use, although pretty close!
On a Scale of Motivation and Talent
51 x 3cm
x 40cm
I've had this painting in mind for a very long time although only just got around to it, in my head I imagined just one pear but thats not how I did it when it came to painting it. It's a scale in the form of a painting. I've met people, not recently, who brag about how bad they are at art, and I agree that you can't be taught how to art, you're either born with the genetic make-up or not. Although in saying that I believe that even if you suck, the fact that you have hands and can brush your teeth competently means that you can make basic shapes and shading with a little motivation. On the left of the artwork I painted as if I had no motivation and no talent, gradually increasing the level of recognition to end up with what it would look like when painting with talent and motivation (ignoring abstract, impressionism, figurative styles etc.). I then played with it and changed the colours and placed the pears up the wall and turned the curtain to water because I'm a surrealist, and my skills allow me to. I also found it interesting that while painting it I realised pears are more yellow than green. Oil based, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity!

This is one of my 80 artworks and as I looked through my files shortly before deciding to create this I noticed I didn’t preserve the couch photo from my ‘Desert Couch’ artwork. I took this as a challenge to restore the image so I could use it in my artworks. I also wanted to use my newly polished off elephant image and this is where I went with those two.

Lately I'm focusing on building my skills (and using up my black so I can replenish my paints into just the shades and primary colours..) so I made this dark desert, at first I visualised a floating crossing in the desert and as I painted I decided to make it never ending and then on an adventure with my mum an idea popped into mind where I should paint trees that bend downward into street lights. I also decided to change the way I paint desert grounds, adding more detail. I think that if I organised myself better I could have added more detail, we'll see how these skills progress. So essentially it's up to the viewer to decide how they interpret the painting. I like to see it as a pathway made especially for you, forming itself as you as it progresses, directing you where you need to be. Oil based, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity!

This is one of the 80 artworks and as I created it I had something slightly… entirely different in mind (rotating stages of giraffes from previous artworks) however someone at the time was talking to me about which one of my artworks they wanted, so I took a peek at my website which turned into a total rabbit hole and I ended up leaving an hour later and making this artwork.
Self Portrait as Caravaggio as Bacchus
46 x 3cm
x 60.5cm
I've been learning about Caravaggio and the first painting I saw in a book was 'Self Portrait as Bacchus'... So I Googled Bacchus, he's the God of Wine. I found it pretty funny that Caravaggio painted himself as the God of Wine although every documentary I saw or read hadn't found the humour in it, some even looked at it as showing off sickness (peoples skin turns yellow when you drink too much, perhaps he were proud?) in terms of help. I decided to paint myself being Caravaggio while he's being Bacchus. It's slightly rushed although as I look at it longer I start to see where I could have improved, specifically in the face shape and shading in general. I chose to make the painting different aside from the general pose, some things in particular are the hair.. Since I'm painting myself being Caravaggio being Bacchus, I decide that the God of Wine's hair ends with a grape or leaf. I changed the vibrancy and colours of the grapes, placements of the peaches and shape of the vines. Copying isn't art so I couldn't see the point in copying a precise replica of the rest of the painting. This artwork is hand-stretched, hooks will be attached on sale and sold with a certificate of authenticity.

This is one of the 80 artworks and before creating it I hunted down some ideas, I didn’t find any however an entirely unrelated video came up on my YouTube and the background of this lecture was a projection of a mosaic window. I thought it looked great and decided to tackle creating one in a digital artwork. It took a while to achieve this look, and a tricky venture for Photoshop! The doughnuts link from two other artworks, ‘Doughnut Town’ and ‘Ice Cream Town’.
Negro with Parrots and Monkeys Censored
51 x 3cm
x 51cm
This artwork is an appropriation of a 17th century Swedish leading artist David Klöcker Ehrenstrahl’s 1670 artwork ‘Negro with Parrots and Monkeys’. When I saw this artwork originally I really enjoyed the composition and expression used. However we live in a cancel culture where even in the most fitting situations we aren’t allowed to mention a growing vocabulary of words purely because someone else has repeatedly used them in a derogatory manner and therefore it’s assumed all uses of the word are derogatory. “The asian girl over there” for example, is now considered a racist comment instead of describing the person you’re referring to. I feel as if I’m not allowed to tell anyone about the original artwork, it’s now considered racist despite portraying the opposite of how we now associate the word, negro. By appropriating this artwork I’m giving the original artwork a new platform to be seen, we shouldn’t shun art history out of fear of using a word in the most appropriate context and being cancelled. I could have named it “I’m not allowed to title this artwork” but I don’t believe that would have reflected the original enough or even conveyed the point I’m making. I have two other appropriations and they’re each titled referencing the originals. I did think about just appropriating the artwork into my own style, surrealist and bold colours although after starting I changed my mind and tried to ring true to the thin and many layers artists of the time would have used. Putting censor bars and staying true to the style seemed more appropriate to my goal. The approach to thinly layering paint didn’t sit well with me and I ended up stopping this to paint a massive artwork in my own style. Toward the end of this artwork I ended up rage quitting because I felt like it took too long. Had I isolated more time in the first week of this artwork then I would have stayed interested in keeping it realistic. I wasn’t able to perfectly match the perspective. This artwork is one of my hand-stretched ones, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.

Before I created this I’d recently photographed a jar which I used in the previous artwork, ‘The Doughnut Jar’, and decided I’d love to see a jar filled with snakes. If you see the screen recording you’ll see I tried a few variations but ended up using a car as a lid as you see here. I also decided to include ideas from older artworks like ‘Stitching Ground’ to keep the lid on.

This is one of my 80 artworks and I began this idea with the intent of capturing movement within a painting after looking at Wyndham Lewis’s artwork ‘A Battery Shelled’ and seeing the movement there. The artwork took a plot twist when I looked at the painting image again in daylight and thought I was looking at something entirely different. I continued creating a response to what I thought I saw. I aimed to paint a running statue catching a ball which then turned into a statue hand throwing it and I aimed for the other parts of the artwork to appear as if they’re mid motion. The artwork isn’t one of my favourites as it looks very different to my other paintings so I’m ‘on the fence’ with this one. Since I made it in October and months have passed before putting it up for sale I’m growing a liking to the result. This artwork is one of my hand-stretched ones, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.

This is another artwork from my October Challenge and a follow up idea from my ‘Ice Cream Town’, a mix of my ‘Chocolate Ice-car’ and ‘Snake Flavour Please’ where I decided I needed to create different ice cream flavours as I like the idea of seeing an ice cream although having the actual ice cream another object, unexpected and confusing.

I recently entered the pyramid rabbit hole, long story short, these are not tombs. It began as I find other peoples point of view interesting so I let conspiracy theories (or just regular theories that the mainstream labels to lower their credibility) enter my YouTube feeds and I think it included a mix of my electronics searches because I came across a pyramid generator theory by Chris Dunn. The entire topic is fascinating and has merit so I don’t think my painting reflects all the ideas I came across but I wanted to paint something pyramid. One point that I want to share, through art, is that we seem to under the mainstream impression that Egypt has always been a desert but there’s water erosion marks all over the Sphinx. Water plays a big part in a lot of the science explaining alternate histories. The pyramids generator theory is pretty complicated but I started the painting when learning about the aquifers part of the theory which is the very beginning of the generator theory, so I painted the pyramid of water. I also wanted to reflect two older artworks named, ‘Priorities’ and ‘Priorities 2’. The artwork wasn’t very planned out but as I continued to paint I put in plenty of effort into the spikes, also referencing my recent artwork ‘Thinking Things Up’ I learnt about the mystery of the tunnels that lead under the Sphinx so I added those into it. At some point I wanted to add more, then another point I decided to keep it simple and make more artworks to share the ideas. This artwork is one of my hand-stretched ones, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.

This is an artwork I created early on in my October Challenge and the idea popped into mind right after finishing a recent digital artwork, ‘How Rainbows Are Made’, I wanted to continue the idea of the cloud spitting out colours yet entirely focus on that as the artwork on its own.

Before making this artwork I made a digital artwork where I first created a land of spring animals. I really liked it but thought that I could do better painting it since fur is a tricky game on a computer by manipulating photos. So this artwork is mainly an exercise of skill. I also wanted to create an artwork with movement so that’s where the idea of the two birds crashing into each other came from. Recently I also painted ‘Thinking Things Up’ where I painted some horses in odd positions, falling, so I also continued on from that idea including the pink horse. Overall I wanted to paint like my digital artworks so I included my moon balloons. By the time I finished the artwork I couldn’t decide on a concept. When I look at it I see a world of spring animals, like the intent with the digital artwork as well, I just don’t have deep meaning for this artwork like the others. Either way, goals achieved! This is a digital artwork I created during the beginning of my October challenge and really wanted to utilise my new jar photo and also the theme I’d recently been following with using tiny objects (since my computer’s now upgraded and can handle my ideas). I also saw an artwork from the MCA of a red room and wanted to create a glass outdoor room after seeing this. While creating this a client rang and asked how I think of these ideas, so that’s what I named it.

This artwork went through three lives, see the documentation of the making in either the opinionated or the timeless to see it unfold. I began wanting to paint the concept that the simulation theory is just modern platonism, but the layout was rushed. Then I decided to paint different forms of water as a skill challenge, but I wanted to do it in a day as part of twenty-one artworks in twenty-one days. I then wrapped up that project and attended a lecture where I believe confirmed my opinion that we’re in the depths of a world-wide Dunning-Kruger effect with AI. The lecturer seemed to have zero concept on how vibe coders are actually creating terrible code, Obama also seems to think AI code is exceptional for some reason. I doubt he’s tried, and if he did, I assure you he’s not skilled at coding. Both claims from world renowned, respected people with no professional claim in the fields they say AI is making progress in. I’ll make more artworks on the other idea’s spawned from this but this one shows the concept of how we’re mainly using AI wrong. A fantastic concept included a video game where the boss learns your moves and makes it harder for you to win, genuinely building your human skills instead of doing it for you. Yet we live in a world where we’re too cautious to let AI be the obstacle over the enabler. The dumb will become dumber and the intelligent will prosper further creating a huge gap in our species. The dumb are galloping, with AI. This artwork is one of my hand-stretched ones, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.

NOTE FOR ROB: Since this was your concept you have a reserved discount forever. In case my email went to spam, you'll receive an email from my business account instead of the one displayed on my website. If you want to grab it just use your email address, all lowercase, as the coupon code to reduce the price to $550AUD. This artwork was requested as a non-commission based on a previous artwork I created, 'ROMSOM' which is an acronym for reflection of my state of mind and created based on a study which showed that the more greyscale a persons instagram was, the more depressive symptoms they exhibited. I'd say I've improved in painting clouds so this request ended up being a really fun challenge. This time I didn't include black in the clouds and approached them differently which I think worked out really well! There were other challenges that were interesting to paint, like the motion of the propeller and the tiny figures. This time round, since it's a non-commission, I'm allowed creative freedom and in the era of my career I'm in right now I'm really enjoying painting tiny figures in my artworks, like the artwork 'Surrealists and Psychology' and 'Running Wild with Still Life'. So I included tiny figures that pop up in my other artworks, like horses in poses you'd never be able to photograph, bunnies floating around, cacti like my main artwork 'Trauma' and my cowhide pears. I see it as you're in the sky scape of your imagination and these items are zooming around doing their own thing. What was really fun about this artwork was the request for a biplane somewhere, once I looked up examples it became a really interesting part of the artwork to paint as I've never painted one before. In the end I decided to name the artwork ROBSOM as a play on the prequel's title but instead it's Rob's state of mind. This is an artwork I decided to create during the second round of my ‘October challenge’ and always wanted to re-create an older piece named ‘Candy Crossing’ as I’ve always liked how that one turned out. I ended up creating this and wanted to show a different world behind the wall.

After creating my ‘Photoshop Moses’ artwork I wanted to create another but differently and plays with illusions. The concept behind it is the imbalance of climate. It’s interesting how one part of the world will be flooding and another will be in drought, it makes you think about that argument of asking water when people say “I’ll end up back in the ocean anyway” This artwork is oil based, isn’t one of my hand-stretched ones and sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.

This is an idea that came into mind when painting my painting, ‘Death of the Rock Piano’ where I looked at my digital artwork using a piano where I changed the colours and decided I should create another with zebra stripes, then since I already created a piece with a stripy giraffe I thought I’d include that and just turn it black and white. This didn’t look like zebra stripes so I ventured on to create stripes which resemble the actual pattern and this is the outcome.

Interestingly, I had a few besties there that were consecutively vegans. I’m not though, I sit in the camp of meat in every meal please or it’s not a meal. I’d also always wanted a cow hide since first moving out and until I managed to afford a few I had a fake one. Then when my real ones manifested themselves I’d proudly announce there’s a cow hide in the room. Some friends wont step on it and that’s where our opinions differ, I see it as the circle of life and it’s a waste to now use the hide. So this is where the artwork comes in, it’s the circle of life. This is an artwork I created during my October Challenge Pt 1 and I decided to create it after having seen an image with an arch door and decided I needed a serene artwork where birds sit perched watching.

In the concept of this artwork I took the saying of things turning “pear shaped” literally. My intention is for the pears to express how the journey of each small progress in my career goes pear shaped so often, but each obstacle in each of those tiny goals is a learning curve that I needed. So I pelt the pears at the ladder. The painting was then followed up by a sequel, they're sold together. The sequel is the ladder being dinged around by the pears and the climb continues. This artwork is oil based, is one of my hand-stretched ones and sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.

This is a digital artwork continued from my ‘Doughnut Slinky’ although I’ve now levelled up because my computer has and I decided to create a doughnut town, this will soon be accompanied by an ice-cream town where some elements cross paths, hopefully literally if you hag them together!

This is a painting I made as a sentiment to my future goals, when I'm 63 and it’s February, I aim to have finished 2,000 paintings and this is how I pictured it. The wall is covered in shadows from previously hung up artworks along with empty boxes from my colouring in book series and the waterfall is what feels like an endless stream of ideas for new artworks. The painting goes on with other metaphors. This ended up selling to my brother as he’s a big supporter of my career choice and glad to have an artist in the family, he’s also talented but doesn’t use it. This artwork is oil based, is one of my hand-stretched ones and sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.

This is a digital artwork I decided to create after having made a giraffe artwork and thinking about it while I looked at my lights waiting for them to turn themselves off. The lights in my home are all the colours so as I watched them and thought about the giraffe artwork mixed the two thoughts and I decided to create this piece.
