During an adventure to the PIX exhibition I saw a photograph of a car, I’m not sure if the tyres were white walls or actually glowing, it’s a black and white photo I only briefly looked at but I liked the idea. So I began working on a digital artwork where the tyres would glow and that’s the only goal. This artwork ended up going through a couple transformations and it may be worth watching the making of it.

After my ‘Optical Ocean’ artwork I wanted to keep manipulating things in the same manner, so I took a photo of my cup and decided to virtually slice it up then fill it with water by adding my ocean cubes from the previous artwork.

Fruit Juice

This is a painting of a pear tree and a branch reaching out then pouring a tap, which pours pear juice into a cup. Up to the viewer how they see it. Oil Based, hand stretched, signed and ready to hang with a certificate of authenticity.

Traveller

I created this painting based on a digital artwork I created a few weeks prior which was incredibly well received. Knowing that from the past when I paint a digital artwork it doesn’t quite measure up, so this time I painted a different angle and with a new style using harsher gradients which I think made it unique. I call it “Traveller” because when I first looked at it after I'd painted the people in I saw a journey, like one where you travel over seas and other countries look, feel and smell as foreign as a pineapple blowing up to a hot air balloon. Floating on a crossing as if the visit is a dream. Whenever I explain how Bulgaria is to Australians I don't think they ever fully understand how different it is unless they experience going there. Oil Based, hand stretched, signed and ready to hang with a certificate of authenticity.

All the Shit I Need

This year my new years resolution is to save as many things from council cleanup as I throw out, to make my waste for the year zero (excluding recycling of any type). This then lead to me cleaning out my home of anything I'm saving for “one day”, it seems like so many people fill their homes with things they save for “I'll need it one day”. I could fill my car over many times with the amount of things I've been saving for “one day”. During my week of painting eleven paintings I decided that this were a topic I wanted to paint about. So I painted household items under a sheet, hidden away, over an oddly uneven ground, the landfill. Commenting on consumerism. This artwork is hand-stretched, hooks will be attached on sale and sold with a certificate of authenticity.

After seeing how my ‘Biggie Coffee River’ digital artwork turned out, where I incorporated a painting into the water of a photo. I wanted to try again with another painting, I don’t think I hit the mark with this one but it’s interesting to see how it played out.

Cup Ocean

I’ve managed to accrue some Max Brenner cups over the years and I decided I wanted to use one in an artwork. In 2017 I reflected on a previous artwork I created with a forest in a cup and it must have been the trend or my algorithms at the time and I saw how other people were tackling theirs. I wanted to create another as the first wasn’t well executed to to image size.

I made this painting following a digital artwork of fruit that wasn't the correct shapes, and ran with the banana idea. The concept is based around the way lots of people live their lives, unnaturally posed in front of a screen ordering takeaway, connected to the other screens and that's their reality. The outdoors of the painting was going to include magenta (to have a mix of CMYK.. graphic design jargon) although it looked too space-like for my liking. It's hand stretched with a certificate of authenticity and always sold with hooks.

Breakfast

This painting is for all the optimists out there. When I wake up and make breakfast I see a fun day ahead, still full of work although at the same time feels like a holiday. That's why I painted the plates to sort of be a pool, the bottle to be reminiscent of a palm tree and the tiles to either be sky or a hotel. What do you choose to see? This artwork is hand stretched and comes with hooks for hanging!

Forest Cup

This artwork has a little lore to it and is unavailable. In 2017 I created a digital artwork of a cup with a forest in it, I really liked the idea and wanted my own mini earth in a cup. A common artwork concept. From there I then continued my challenge of recreating digital artworks with paint, quite a challenge. The artwork was then entered and a finalist for the 20cm x 20xm inaugural art prize. After it returned and a few years later I decided to gift it to my grandma and currently sits proudly in her home. This artwork is oil based, isn’t one of my hand-stretched ones and would be sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.
