This is a painting I created with the idea to paint the feeling of waiting for the rain to end. I also wanted to create something well executed like a painting I’d made a couple weeks earlier ‘Midnight Snack’. By the end of the painting I’d started reading a book on Magritte and found his work a tad sloppy so I felt compelled to work harder on making sure the painting had been polished off.
Pears (and cactuses) feature as metaphors for people in my paintings and these pairs wait under a sheet of water acting as a jail by the growing stems and birds emerge from the water since they just live in the water when it rains.
This artwork is hand-stretched, hooks will be attached on sale and sold with a certificate of authenticity.
