This one time, I went onto insta and saw someone turn their 3D render artworks into a moving LCD screen, as if it’s a painting but alive. Sounds cool, but as I looked at it, it reminded me of that feeling when you’ve been starring at a screen too long. In my mind moving image and digital art will never replace a good painting. They’re just selling another TV with one channel, when your home is serene and you lay on your couch relaxed ready to go to bed, a painting can really grab your imagination. Some moving pixels… more of a wake up tool. For the people out there who get art, paint isn’t boring. You can get lost in a painting just as much as a cat video (if not more) so I decided to make the cactus in this painting very detailed. However it was one of my 80 artworks and I do believe I achieved that, but my opinion might change on that. I painted a very slight glow from outside the frame which is a screen pushing the cactus off the table. You don’t need to show actual motion to imply it’s there, so I painted the cactus on an angle, implying that it’s being knocked off the metaphorical table of art by a screen. A window to remind you outside exists. If you’ve seen my digital artworks I just want to note that you’ll see I never make an effort to make them move. It’s purely an expression of imagination instead of an attempt to grab hold of your psyche’s attention.  Since painting this artwork I’ve noticed some people around me who clearly have screen addictions, something not socially acceptable to mention so a follow up painting is on the way. The Pear Shop

While you look at this artwork I have a pear shop, this pear shop only exists when you look at the artwork. This pear shop has some rules though, there are only four pears and it began with all the pears being uncensored. When you visit the shop you decide what flavour you want and if you taste another flavour you may censor it and leave it behind for the next person. However the next person won’t know what they’re missing out on.  This is a continuation on my previous artwork, ‘Idiot, Nigger, Genius’ yet less specific and a different take. Same idea though. I find it outrageous how sensitive the western culture is right now that I can’t say anything, ever. All my sentences must be pre-screened and deeply analysed should the rare event arise where someone decides I’ve been offensive then decides I’m prejudice and in-prisons me for the death penalty. We are robbing our future generations of knowing our culture. Another artwork I made, ‘Negro with Parrots and Monkeys Censored’ shows an appropriation of an artwork from the 18th century, ‘Negro with Parrots and Monkeys’, censored. I looked up this artwork in detail and I originally found it in an art book purchased in the 2000’s. However the internet has changed the artworks name to “Boy with Parrots and Monkeys”… Disgusting! If the future internet decides to censor the word pear in 200 years I’d be outraged. No artist ever made an artwork with intent for the public to change it. Censorship doesn’t belong in the art world, it should strictly stick to G rated TV shows in my opinion. When looking at still life artworks I enjoy them however the fact that you can do so much more with a bowl of fruit and drink always crosses my mind. Really make the viewer think about what’s going on there. I also really like how still life ages and it’s atypical to see aged fruit in a still life artwork, there’s a beauty in aged fruit, especially rotting fruit when you see the brown start to show. I decided to paint my still life artwork in motion, as if something happened (I wont throw suggestions as to what, that’s up to you) that caused the still life arrangement to go flying around the canvas. I tried to paint off milk here however I never come across off milk so that’s my best attempt at this time in my life. As a surrealist I also enjoy painting items in the wrong colours. Even though the contents of this artwork are aged and moving around, it’s still, still life. I decided to paint this artwork after I discovered creamed honey. I have bees that visit my place everyday for honey and I opted in for creamed so I wouldn't have to fight with a bee to eat my pancakes. The bee's didn't recognise the creamed version and that solved my problem which had me wondering if food were a different consistency would we still enjoy it as much? I painted a pizza as soup and wine as jelly. I feel like I still have room for improvement in executing the realness of the artwork although this is where I'm at right now. Never Even Existed

Prior to this artwork I accidentally attracted one bee that visited on the daily, that bee then brought it's friend and word spread and now I have a crew that spends their days on my balcony. I've heard around that bees are becoming extinct so I looked into it (wanting to feed them what they should be eating) and learnt that honey bee's aren't facing extinction at all and they're not that great at pollinating. Other bee species are great pollinators, don't make honey and can come in cool colours... I've been saving the wrong species. Here we are trying to spread awareness about bee extinction but when most people hear “bee” they think honey bee, most people don't know other bee species exist, and if we don't believe they even exist then what's the difference to us when they're extinct? That venture lead to this painting, in terms of skill I really struggled since it's so far from my style. The blue Mason Bee fights the Honey Bee for it's place in the world. I decided to paint it's wings as bubbles since this bee is fantasy to most people anyway. This artwork is hand-stretched, hooks will be attached on sale and sold with a certificate of authenticity.

Giraffe on a Stroll

I created this painting with the idea in mind that I'll paint a very tall giraffe although aimed to avoid using pink, after painting the giraffe in green it looked like a dinosaur so I had to re-evaluate and landed on pink anyway. Since the giraffe ended up in the outfit it did, the painting ended up becoming much more festive than I expected. I also painted birds to turn into banana's as they fly around the giraffe although feel like that may have been a subconscious link to the birds in Donkey Kong Country 3, a game I played a lot when I was younger. They certainly seemed familiar for some reason! The road mimics an idea I had for a digital artwork created a few years back (roughly 2020) where I took the road lines and turned them into lasers, like this painting. This time I decided that the entire scene needs to be filled with activities so I submerged the road underwater and turned the giraffes head into a sinking balloon. I painted the balloon clear to mimic a state of mind when going for a stroll on a lovely sunny day. Careless, despite any obstacles on the main road of your day. I had this painting in mind for a while, sometimes when drivingg at night and there's only one other car out I wonder what they're up to or what they do for a living to get that car, or is it on loan? Thing is, I'll never know and it's not my business, the same way if someones looking at my vehicle wondering the same... not your business. I painted the idea as a road surrounded in tall trees although everything is covered in leopard print spots and the car drives on the tree walls, also covered in spots as if it's blending in – no questions to be asked, there's no car. This panting is music, I recently sold an artwork and the buyer received it then responded with a piece of music he created inspired by the artwork. That piece of music then inspired me to create this artwork. You'd need to watch the last 30s of the video to really get it. When I recently looked up a Kandinsky documentary on his synaesthesia and music he was able to identify instruments to their colours, I feel like music is so saturated with synthetic sounds I'm not there yet.. although this piece was quite clear, the beat are dark blue spots floating high up in the air, the higher piano keys are pink stairs and the lower piano are light blue floating sheets of water. The artwork also had a very bright vibe to it so I needed the artwork to be in day time. Oil based, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity!

This artwork is an appropriation of a 17th century Swedish leading artist David Klöcker Ehrenstrahl’s 1670 artwork ‘Negro with Parrots and Monkeys’. When I saw this artwork originally I really enjoyed the composition and expression used. However we live in a cancel culture where even in the most fitting situations we aren’t allowed to mention a growing vocabulary of words purely because someone else has repeatedly used them in a derogatory manner and therefore it’s assumed all uses of the word are derogatory. “The asian girl over there” for example, is now considered a racist comment instead of describing the person you’re referring to. I feel as if I’m not allowed to tell anyone about the original artwork, it’s now considered racist despite portraying the opposite of how we now associate the word, negro. By appropriating this artwork I’m giving the original artwork a new platform to be seen, we shouldn’t shun art history out of fear of using a word in the most appropriate context and being cancelled. I could have named it “I’m not allowed to title this artwork” but I don’t believe that would have reflected the original enough or even conveyed the point I’m making. I have two other appropriations and they’re each titled referencing the originals. I did think about just appropriating the artwork into my own style, surrealist and bold colours although after starting I changed my mind and tried to ring true to the thin and many layers artists of the time would have used. Putting censor bars and staying true to the style seemed more appropriate to my goal. The approach to thinly layering paint didn’t sit well with me and I ended up stopping this to paint a massive artwork in my own style. Toward the end of this artwork I ended up rage quitting because I felt like it took too long. Had I isolated more time in the first week of this artwork then I would have stayed interested in keeping it realistic. I wasn’t able to perfectly match the perspective. I was listening to a video about Magritte one day and the narrator dropped the comment that surrealists tend to be interested in psychology. I agree with that, I’m a surrealist and I find it fascinating how people act, not in a pop-psychology-internet-article kind of way, in a way that I’ll borrow books that are referenced in uni degree’s and understand you can’t just go around diagnosing people. Time is limited for this activity though. A few years back, around 26, I learnt that creativity is the brain making connections between parts of the brain. Where other people who aren’t creative don’t make those connections. Until I learnt that I genuinely believed people were being lazy when they’d say things like “How do you think of that?”… In my mind, you just stop and think for two seconds, get a grip. Then I continued on and learnt about synesthesia and have a personal theory that’s just intense creativity. All very interesting. Then that comes to the art, just an extension of how I think and representative of how I see things. So here I painted my thoughts and ideas falling through the roof of my mind and entering the real world. The items that represent my ideas then begin to die, “How high are you?”, “It’s so abstract!”. There’s also a reference to a digital artwork I created. Some hands reach out wanting to share the ideas. People don’t tend to look at the artwork and guess what I’m conveying with it, of coarse! That would be quite a party trick, like reading my mind. But the wonderful thing about art is that everyone sees something individual in each artwork and they personalise it.  It becomes a lovely plot twist that the artworks enter the real world to die, then rebirth in a new way for each individual. I find it so interesting that people break down historic artists artworks and label what they were thinking, without descriptions you just don’t know… Bosch. This is the second last painting of my 80 artworks project, I aimed to paint something simple since I was low on time but it also fit into the concept very well and ended up being one of my favourites from the lot. Before creating the artwork I looked at my website and came across a painting I almost forgot about ‘Obedience’, a painting with a dusk purple sky and bees buzzing around in bubbles. I wanted to create something similar. The concept was influenced by my project and how my life is so different to other people (it’s part of my job to stop everything and intensely create art for 11 weeks straight), they’re too busy doing the “This is what’s expected of me” to stop and wonder if they’re blindly flying through life in the bubble caught in the wind. Do you genuinely control the direction your life is going?  I also wanted to channel the style of my digital artworks, a challenge I’ve been working on as I find it difficult to have the two genre’s overlap. I believe this artwork really did a good job with that. My digital artworks have moon balloons in them, the moon also represents your emotions in astrology so I definitely put a moon in there. This was one of my final 9 apaintings from the 80 artworks project, I decided to paint a bird out of practicality for the time constraint and I also wanted to paint a bird, like a previous artwork ‘Flock Party’, since I haven’t in a while. One that’s in a position you’d be lucky to have photographed… only executed through painting in some capacity. I also wanted to paint something which the viewer needed to think about, how it’s hanging onto a cloud and what is the cloud to each person? In this artwork I decided to try a new tactic where you see above the ground and below. Since this was my first attempt and also during my 80 artworks I believe I could have done better. Either way, it’s not bad! I also aimed to have more of a landscape where my artwork showcases a scene instead of one centred item. The idea of this artwork is based on how nothing’s random. A passing thought when I joke about simulation theory. Then I wondered why there’s people who genuinely believe that random things happen… The thought that the entire world is a massive domino effect doesn’t apply in their version of reality. I believe things happen exactly as planned, whether you choose to do it through one way or another.   To paint this I tried to show tunnels beneath the ground and one item in one end and something else on the other end, water enters one tunnel then wind exits another which turns into clouds. It all seems linked to me, go on and ask someone how often they needed something and it turns up on their curb side. I find it interesting to see just how many people this happens to. This is another artwork about synesthesia, although instead of a particular taste I wanted to play on the crossing of senses visually. Someone in passing mentioned “tasting shapes” as a joke about how they were confused about something. It made me think about how I do taste shapes, I very much describe flavour in terms of shapes and colour, although an entirely useless way to communicate the description of a flavour even to other people who imagine things with synesthesia. However a very useful way to start an interesting conversation.  So here’s my artwork hearing flavour, an ear travelling across a pear doused in pink passing by a nose smelling a green floating wave. Bouncing between its own walls (your own mind) and half a statue thinking on one side while the head drips down the other.  The entire scene, your mind thinking about a flavour or sound. I tend to tell people I’m annoyed with them… conflict resolution. However before creating this I thought about the people around me who have an issue with something and act like they’re all fine. Society doesn’t really allow room for people to have a mood anymore, especially with this mental health movement, despite being a human function. We seem to be expected to be corporate 24/7 and handle things in a passive aggressive manner by being polite. Sometimes the situation calls for telling people how it is and you won’t look professional, there’s a chance you may be diagnosed with a disorder by your local hairdresser and that’s how it is. It’s impossible to resolve conflict with passive aggressive people to be frank, and I genuinely wonder, when’s the tipping point? When’s the bottle going to break and overreact? Why would anyone act this way to be liked. I originally imagined up a more detailed artwork but as I continued to create it, that didn’t fit the concept… Outside the bottle (their mind) everything’s calm, quiet, nothing is out of place. Inside the bottle, nothing looks comfortable. In the words of Pauline Hanson… “I don’t like it”. In the background, a broken bottle that made a cloud. In the past I've made a painting of flowers which grow into birds. While glancing past a painting hanging in my livingroom, 'Fruit juice' I decided to merge the two and create a tree with flowers which grow into birds. Between the time I started and finished the painting I went for a run and thought I saw a street covered in petals (since it's early spring) and realised I were actually looking at feathers, most likely from a fight to the death and decided to paint the birds fighting. While painting a previous painting Michael Jackson came on the radio and with the general “politically correct” vibe of western societies right now an idea came to mind to paint a spiky lake that would feel very uncomfortable to swim in. I don't believe it's politically correct to go around correcting people who've been brought up in a way that their language isn't used in an offensive manner. I painted the lake as it is because it feels like people are silenced very quickly, the swim is too spiky. I also painted the fence around it because there's no standing up for yourself with these people and I attached moons to the fence because in astrology the moon represents emotions. Since being politically correct is a great outlet to project your own grievances on others. This year my new years resolution is to save as many things from council cleanup as I throw out, to make my waste for the year zero (excluding recycling of any type). This then lead to me cleaning out my home of anything I'm saving for “one day”, it seems like so many people fill their homes with things they save for “I'll need it one day”. I could fill my car over many times with the amount of things I've been saving for “one day”. During my week of painting eleven paintings I decided that this were a topic I wanted to paint about. So I painted household items under a sheet, hidden away, over an oddly uneven ground, the landfill. Commenting on consumerism. Since I'm painting one painting a week and death week threw me off a bit I smashed this painting out in three days, the idea of this painting was to focus on skill. After painting 'Fruits of my Labour' I painted 'Snacking and Daydreaming' to replicate the pear from the first one. The second painting also went well so I used the elephants from 'Snacking and Daydreaming' in 'Wall of Bubbles and Floppy Elephants' which turned out entirely different (well, they all look entirely different). So when painting this painting I decided to think about the first painting and take the dark sky and the fruits from the second painting. I've also taken elements from other paintings and challenged myself to paint a clear sheet of water. Overall, very happy with how it turned out and consider it a sequel to 'Snacking and Daydreaming' because it reminds me of a midnight snack. I've been learning about artists in history and recently that's included Caravaggio, the first portrait I read about of his was 'Self Portrait as Bacchus'. I found it pretty funny that he painted himself as the god of wine so casually and with such skill. Along with other documented events like ripping into Baglione and trying to make it back to Rome after raising his status, it seems like Caravaggio really too the piss at some things although when I learnt about his all people would mention about his character were that Caravaggio was “tortured”. It's safe to say that people have more than one emotion so I decided to paint Caravaggio as a clown – no one lives their lives being in a tortured mood 24/7. I couldn't really pinpoint aspects of his face because I worked off two portraits that honestly look different and differ in age, although the face is only 2-3cm big so that's alright. I painted the chair to not make sense on purpose and the light source is a canvas, the positive part in life he can rely on. I painted his left arm as a long red fabric because he includes those in many of his artworks and also metaphorical for blood on his hands. I painted the door open, as if we're looking into his life and one shoe because from what I've read he's pretty gross. Overall I'd rushed this painting a bit as ironically I'd made a killer week of artwork sales and organising them intervened with painting this one. I'm firm on finishing them when I decide they'll be finished, this is a reflection of my skill and environment at the time. Recently I started reading books (instead of articles), I figured the amount of effort it takes to whip up an article has become almost benign and isn't as factual as they used to be so I read some books. The first one was a motivational book (so I'd be motivated to read more books) and not long after I found myself trying to read all the books instantly, I needed to finish them all. So I decided to create a painting about that. The woman in this painting wears an old style dress (because books are an old resource) and is covered by books, floating in a room. I painted the roof a leopard print drooping down and the floor large leaves or grass. Each of the roof and floor interact with the woman as if they're books and she's absorbing the knowledge. The woman is shown to shoot out clouds out the window which, for me, is what she gives back. Oil based, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity!

This painting is the start of a new way of painting for me. During lockdown I set myself to complete a lockdown challenge which ended up in overusing my right hand and I ended up continuing the challenge with my left hand in the colouring in books. That had a domino effect. Many weeks later half way through painting this painting it felt weird not using my left hand as well, so now I paint with two hands. The painting originally set out to be just the teacup, although at the time I felt like I could do better, setting up scenes instead of having an object in focus. So I brought in the birds and by the time I'd finished painting them it gave me the vibe they're flocking around a water cooler sharing stories. The spots represent the story and I aimed to give each bird a different persona. Sold with hooks ready to hang, hand stretched and a certificate of authenticity!

This is my third attempt at painting gold using flat oil paints. For my first two attempts I'd been trying to mimic a print from a digital artwork I created although this time round I took note that that isn't working for me and decided to take a photo of my cutlery and work off that. This time I noticed that I should be using shades of beige and small amounts of white and black, and not to put yellow on it. Yellow is too saturated. I decided that as a surrealist (you can see this in the video) that I stopped painting a normal step looking platform I decided to mmake it curved to show off the malleable-ness of the cutlery This is the artwork I ended up with, I feel like it's a big step forward from my last two attempts although hoping to nail it in the future.This is a reflection of my skill level at this age. I found it interesting how people have a different perspective of you as you, for instance, successful people could make it look easy while from their perspective they would see all the hard work. So I made a mirror reflection of a woman where her reflection shows the wrinkles and everything normal while the woman on our side is made of gold. I haven't yet mastered how to paint gold although I'm a firm believer that when you have an opportunity to finish a painting, it's done and that's a reflection of your skill level at the time. So this is my skill level on painting gold at the moment, hoping to improve. I also managed to convince myself a week before finishing this painting that I couldn't paint people... PMS. This is a painting of some bees in bubbles floating on a cloud. For me, it's as if a bee hive has been falsely left to live out some freedom... I found the 9-5 corporate job quite empty and feel as if a bee in a bubble would, not real freedom and not really accomplishing much, yet being rewarded on a fortnightly basis as if you have. This is a painting I created while making 10 paintings in 10 consecutive weeks. This was the 6th week's painting and you can see the beginning shot on a story on my instagram. It was created as a reflection of how well received my Bull painting was and they're the same style and size. The bull was created after the Smudged Elephant painting was also well received with its unique smudged style painting. This painting is a take of a photo of a bear running through water. Before this artwork I created a self portrait which was another challenge artwork to paint a digital artwork. Then I decided to create another version, this artwork, based on the idea that artists have a reputation of being hopeless, and always high. If I tell someone who already has this bias that I’m an artist they automatically assume I’m high, can’t keep deadlines and all that goes along with the reputation, when really, it’s just the loudest ones keeping up this unfortunate image. So I created a version of my self portrait with a cocain bag instead of sunnies and the plant growing in the background instead of the flowers from my kimono in my self portrait. This is a painting I made with the intention to play with illusions. I painted the bricks so that the viewer questions whats going on there, along with the wall, whether its painted the same colour as the sky or glass? At first, if you check out the video you might see this, I started to paint the woman as glass and ended up playing with the pear as if it resembles a woman. I also intended to paint the pear as a guitar although decided to paint it as is and add some attitude, as if it's slouching there. The aim of this painting was to create a serene scene, as if the pear and the woman-pear are watching the tree grow and drop fruit. Oil based, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity!

I made this painting after a session where I recorded colouring in my self- published colouring in book, so I set the camera to record the painting and wondered were my piece of paper was, as if I needed it to copy onto the canvas, I was still in colouring in mode. Then I thought I should make a painting of a brain connected to a printer “printing” the paintings out. Hand stretched and always sold with hooks a certificate of authenticity and ready to hang!

A friend recently gifted me an artwork he found on the road so I put it in my pantry. One day when I stood there looking for food I reflected on the fact that I haven’t ever attempted to paint outer space. So I did and I wouldn’t call it challenging. I decided to add a space cadet. Scadenfreude is when people find enjoyment from other people failing.. Somewhat similar to survival of the fittest. I started the painting with an entirely different idea in mind, when I listen to the song 'Hotel California' I whip up an image of a house that shaped like a head, gold and in the middle of a desert. I started to paint that and then didn't.. When I started painting this I also re-watched a Bosch documentary which highlighted the right panel of 'The Garden of Earthly Delights' where a woman is made of egg shell. So I decided to paint eggs building houses from the cracked egg shells of other eggs. I painted the eggs to represent peoples minds.. As I see it, survival of the fittest is a mental game in this century (besides Rona). This is one of my hand-stretched ones, has a certificate of authenticity and always sold with hooks ready to hang!
