I haven’t made a birds eye view painting since I was little so I decided I need one in my portfolio. At first I started painting the painting as a giant bird in the desert cages in by arrows, I wanted the spots to be seeping off the bird into the desert. Instead I ended up painting, what I see as, a bird in the sky and we’re viewing the cage from the birds view (just above it) the spots ended up curving as it’s own cage downward to the top and upward at the bottom, so if you saw it on the side view the cage of spots would be an S shape.
The painting reminds me of how people perceive lockdown (currently in a massive one), in the cage or being the cage? I chose to use lockdown to my advantage and whip out an artwork a day, I’m not in the cage in this case. It’s up to the viewer to decide how they interpret this painting.
