Traveller Oil Painting

I created this painting based on a digital artwork I created a few weeks prior which was incredibly well received. Knowing that from the past when I paint a digital artwork it doesn’t quite measure up, so this time I painted a different angle and with a new style using harsher gradients which I think made it unique.

I call it “Traveller” because when I first looked at it after I’d painted the people in I saw a journey, like one where you travel over seas and other countries look, feel and smell as foreign as a pineapple blowing up to a hot air balloon. Floating on a crossing as if the visit is a dream.

Whenever I explain how Bulgaria is to Australians I don’t think they ever fully understand how different it is unless they experience going there.
